Colorado Fly Fishing Guide Profile: Joe Hubbard
Joe began fishing at an early age in Oklahoma and was a professional chef prior to becoming a fly fishing guide. He attended culinary school in Denver and fell in love with the mountains and all they have to offer. After a few years of cooking in New Orleans, Joe married his beautiful wife, Andrea, and they moved back to Denver in 2012. His first trout on a fly rod was caught that year and he began tying his own flies shortly afterward, immersing himself in the craft. After years of experience as a chef, he has developed a patient and thorough teaching style which allows his clients to feel confident and comfortable on the river. Joe loves fishing, camping, cooking for friends and family, playing video games with his wife, and taking his golden retriever, Mojo, swimming. Living in Denver's historic Capitol Hill neighborhood makes the Denver South Platte an easy and convenient river to call home.
