Locations — Big Thompson
The Big Thompson River is nestled in the small mountain town of Estes Park. Estes Park is located an hour and a half from downtown Denver. The river originates from the high mountains of Rocky Mountain National Park. As the river flows through Estes Park it enters Lake Estes. The river then continues out of Olympus dam and flows east towards Loveland Colorado. The Big Thompson offers anglers a unique opportunity to catch beautiful wild trout with Rocky Mountain National Park as the backdrop. Because the Big Thompson is a tailwater, we are able to guide here year-round. The abundant bug life in the river offers anglers opportunities to catch trout on dries and nymphs throughout the year. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience close to Denver the Big Thompson is a fantastic option.
